Keep Your EV Brakes Up to Scratch With Laser Tools’ New High-Pressure Brake Bleeder 

The world’s enthusiasm for electric vehicles has left many of us hoping that there may yet be a future for this planet but it’s left motor manufacturers and mechanics up and down the country with a problem: the braking systems of EVs. 

The advent of electro-hydraulic braking systems has meant that some motor manufacturers are specifying a need for pressure brake bleeders that can operate at a higher pressure than required with conventional systems, i.e. servo-hydraulic braking systems.  

As is quickly becoming a habit, Laser Tools listened to the people and developed a new high-pressure brake bleeder to meet this requirement as well as maintain the ability to be adjusted for lower pressure applications.  

Originally developed by Laser Tools for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers, this 12V powered brake bleeder has an adjustable fluid pressure output from zero to 3.5 bar (50psi). It can be powered from the vehicle battery via the 12V auxiliary socket or any other suitable 12V power source.  

For maximum portability, the unit has been designed to be used with a 5-litre brake fluid container, which is also included. Designed and manufactured in Germany, the brake bleeder features a durable, brake fluid-safe paint finish with clearly marked switches and dial – so you can save yourself all that unnecessary guesswork. 

The unit shuts off automatically when empty and is safe for use with DOT 3, 4, 4+ and DOT 5.1 brake fluids. It comes supplied with a euro cap adaptor and additional adaptors for specific car models are also available, including for Tesla’s Models 3, S and X, Ford Fiesta, and Hyundai, as well as a master cylinder cap.
